Lord Krishna

Lord Krishna

Krishna is a deity worshiped across many traditions in Hinduism in a variety of perspectives. While many Vaishnava groups recognize him as an avatar of Vishnu, other traditions within Krishnaism consider Krishna to be svayam bhagavan, or the Supreme Being. We are very beginning from the birthplace of lord Krishna. Mathura is the birthplace of lord Krishna. The city of Mathura is located in the western part of the state of Uttar Pradesh, in the northern region of India. It is situated on the bank of the river Yamuna.

As per the bhagavatam, Krishna had 16,108 wives, of which eight were chief – including Rukmini, Satyabhama and Jambavati. Now in many Islamic forums, I see a post saying that Krishna was a sex addict or a playboy by citing example of 16,108 wives. Instead of finding out the real truth, they make their own assumptions so as to ridicule Hinduism. So, in this article, we will see why he had 16, 108 wives.

Lord Rama | God Ram and Ramayana

Lord Rama

Ram is the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu. Lord Ram was born as the eldest son of Dasharatha and Kausalya. This festival falls in Navami which is ninth day of Chaitra month as per Hindu calendar. Ramayana and Lord Rama

The epic, Ramayana was written by Maharishi Valmiki. As per the epic Dasharatha, the king of Ayodhya had three wives named Kausalya, Sumitra and Kaikeyi in the Treta Yuga. Even after his marriage to three women, Dasharatha was childless for a long time. Rishi Vasishtha suggested him to perform Putra Kameshti Yagna to fulfill his desire of having a child. It was because of this Yagna Lord Rama was born to Kausalya and King Dasharatha. In Hindu Mythology it is believed that whenever there is an eruption of evil power in Earth, Lord Vishnu takes birth on Earth. During this period when Rama was born in Ayodhya the demon Ravana was trying to spread Adharma in Earth. The birth of Lord Rama was celebrated with great passion as the knowledgeable persons of that time visualized that the child born at Ayodhya is not an ordinary child.

Lord Brahma and Pushkar

Lord Brahma, the creator of universe, has chosen to abide-away from the main settlement in this calm and quiet valley. The moment he created this universe and it started functioning, Lord Brahma principal deed was executed. The Aavallis were already in existence when there were no Himalayas and no Alps. It’s possible that Lord Brahma has selected this safe valley to perform his legendary “yagna” in those days. But for the human pilgrims, especially the “Nag Pahar” represented for a long time a hard surmounting barrier, which rendered the pilgrimage to the path of penance. The slopes were the abode of innumerable “rishis” “munis” “yogis” whose caves and hermitages still can be found. Since Mr. Mancnaugthen the superintendent of Ajmer, the hill has lost danger but no beauty spot. Tradition was here again at work. At the time of creation, Lord Brahma assembled all the celestials on this very spot and “yagna” Around the hallowed site, walls were raised for a “pandol” and sentinels placed to guard it from the evil spirit. Therefore the four isolated mountains were created and put towards the cardinal point that they might serve as guardians of four directions. Today the “Ghadumba- Paapmochani , Savitri and Prabhoota Pahar” are as sacred as rest of Pushkar.
